As a natural momma, I try so hard to be chemical free, non-GMO, and organic on a daily basis. This includes all the products that I use to clean my house, particularly my bathrooms. Below you will find some homemade cleaning product recipes for the bathroom.
Did you know there are over 150 chemicals found homes that are connected to allergies, birth defects, cancer and physiological disorders? Most of these chemicals are found in everyday cleaning products!
And with three little boys in my house, it is often the bathroom that I worry about the most. As a high traffic room with lots of germs, my bathrooms need to be cleaned often.
Like all of you I want life to be easy! I wish I could just not think about it and pick up what ever I want right off the self and not have to critically read every label.
However, I feel like companies are getting sneaker and sneaker. In fact, it has come to the point that I just want to make cleaning products myself. Most of the time its cheaper and even more effective.
Instead of using cleaning products with potentially harmful products, there are ways to effectively clean by only using natural ingredients such as grapefruit, vinegar, lemons, salt, and baking soda.
I understand that there are many organic and more green pre-made products for purchase these days, but I am trying to minimize the amount of pre-made products that I use when everyday household products like vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda do such a great job.
So in my quest to clean naturally I found this hand slide show presentation with tips on how to clean your bathroom naturally. It offers details on different homemade recipes using natural ingredients and how to use them.
DIY Recipes for Natural Bathroom Cleaning
In this slide show you will find the following cleaning recipes:
- Grapefruit and Salt Tub Cleaner

For cleaning my tile floors throughout my house, I use the following recipe:
- First, fill a bucket with 1 gallon of very hot water from the tap.
- Second, add 2 drops of your preferred scented organic dish soap. The dish soap is an important ingredient as it binds to the dirt that the vinegar loosens from your floor.
- Third add 1 cup of vinegar.
- Finally, stir it all together and start cleaning your floors!
And, almost most importantly, let’s talk about a great way to keep your grout looking fresh and new. Here is a link to Amazon where you can purchase this handy grout cleaning brush. What I love about it most is that I don’t have to stoop over. (Yes, I earn a commission if you purchase from this link. No, you do not pay more.)
